Everybody knows that Internet is quite a strange place. Today I have read the Apache log of my professional website and I have found some very astonishing information:
- I have absolutely no idea about why thousands of HTTP Referers are from a Dutch estate company (I guess it is, because I don’t understand Dutch);
- a French guy that moderates (moderates?) an AFAIK live action gun role-playing game web forum uses my picture as an avatar (oh, dear!) and once more I have absolutely no idea why he does that;
- I’m the third Carlo you can find on Google Image and I guess this fact is related to the previous one.

the first behaviour you found in your logs is a common internet pattern. It’s normal to find pr0n links in your referrers: they hope that your web stats are somehow made public, in order to gain some more links to their sites. It’s another form of spam.
