Like everyone else, writing a post on my blog, I try to associate the most relevant tags with it: I find this operation really boring and, realizing that my posts are mostly found and read (discounting those who use feed readers, of course) through search engine queries (and only marginally using tag aggregators), I wonder if it would be more convenient and useful letting the tags be automatically defined using the keywords referred by search engines; collecting the keywords used (perhaps limiting the choice of the tags to the words used in the post… trying to contain “tag poisoning”, spam and false positives) could statistically lead to a suboptimal assignment of the tags.
What do you think of this idea?
Is there anybody interested in writing a plugin (for Wordpress or another blogging software) that does this task?

I found the idea interesting.
For such a collaboration why don’t you evaluate getting in touch with the fine pals at it.blogbabel.com?
Micampe (who I’m sure you know) is one of the actual core developers in the group and sure this is a theme they’re interested into!
Ok, I will.

Thanks.
It is not a good idea, however.
I never really used tags on my blog, I wrote it mainly for myself oh…and for planet.linux.it
Just for curiosity I wrote a small plugin to show the queries that lead to my blog
