The conspiracy connoisseur

As I wrote here I can’t provide any real life examples of logical fallacies but I found the following dialogue very enlightening.

A: «Al-Qaeda was not responsible for the September 11 attacks, responsibility really lay with (…).»
B: «Interesting: could you please show me the proof?»
A: «If I had been able to show you the proof, I would have been killed.»

I don’t know what kind of logical fallacy the previous sentence of A is (I’m not even sure that it could be classified as such) but it is definitely an example of one of the worst and unfortunately very common way of stupid thinking.
