Reading the referers of this website, I found that someone reached it querying a search engine for
Top ten Italian songs of all times
It is rather hard to draft such a list… anyhow this one is a good candidate (even though it contains twelve songs because I wasn’t able to discard two of them).
- 4 Marzo 1943 – Lucio Dalla
- Albachiara – Vasco Rossi
- Azzurro – Adriano Celentano
- Caruso – Lucio Dalla
- Emozioni – Lucio Battisti
- Gloria – Umberto Tozzi
- La canzone del sole – Lucio Battisti
- Nel blu dipinto di blu – Domenico Modugno
- Questo piccolo grande amore – Claudio Baglioni
- Strada facendo – Claudio Baglioni
- Ti amo – Umberto Tozzi
- Vita spericolata – Vasco Rossi

Tozzi no! Dai! Tozzi non me lo dovevi citare!
Wikipedia notes that the song “Ti Amo”
“(during 1977) it stayed at number one on the Italian charts for seven months, outselling every other record, and went on to become an international success throughout continental Europe.”
:)
With all respect, I would delete some of those and add:
Al di la (Emilio Pericoli), Tua (Jula de Palma) and Non ho L’Eta (Gigliola Cinquetti)
Grazie!!
well done!…i would add few songs of eros ramazzotti and andrea bocelli :)
This chart needs:
Umberto Tozzi & Raf – Gente Di Mare
Mina – Se Telefonando
Raf – L’infinito
Laura Pausini – La Solitudine
Marcella Bella – Montagne Verdi
Pooh – Uomini Soli
Eduardo De Crescenzo – Ancora
Eros Ramazzotti – Una Storia Importante
Really, choosing only 10 songs out of such huge musical heritage is impossible. Enjoy!
I will suggest to erase D Cesenzo and add i pooh with PIERRE
@LaVelina: they are twelve, not ten and that list is just my top ten. :)
Today I also listened to Ivana Spagna – E Che Mai Sarà :)
Add: Ivana Spagna – Come Il Cielo (Originale)
I would like to know how to finf the song:”Di Nome ti Chamavi Veneranda”. Thank you
Wrong spelling, perhaps?
Try this one:
http://www.ilpaesechecanta.it/audio/Di%20nome%20si%20chiamava%20Veneranda%20Il%20paesee%20che%20canta%20.mp3
well those are great songs of course, but hey !!!
” Strani amore ” Laura Pausini is number one =)
I don’t like her music but I know that she is quite popular even outside Italy. By the way, the right spelling is “Strani amori”.
Sou brasileiro, filho de imigrantes portugueses…
Adoro música e as italianas são minhas preferidas.
Não tenho dúvidas de que as 10 canções italianas mais bonitas de todos os tempos são:
1) Tanto Cara – Guido Renzi
2) Fratello sole sorella luna – Cláudio Baglioni
3) Tornero
4) Non Ho L’età – Gigliola Cinquetti
5) Al di lá
6) Ti Voglio Tanto Bene
7) O Sole Mio – Clauio Villa
8) Io Che Non Vivo Senza Te – Pino Donaggio
9)Canzone Per Te – Sergio Endrigo
10)Legata a un granello di sabbia – Nico Fidenco
11) Io che amo solo te
12) Champagne – Peppino Di Capri
13) Dolce Amore Mio – I Santo Califórnia
14) Strani Amori
15) Passerá
I want to add one or two songs to this list:
1: Dio come ti amo / Gigliola Cinquetti
2: O mio signore / Edoardo Vianello

Hey Carlo,
Thanks for replying but, earlier this month i had checked on the link u have sent and its not the song i am looking for.
Thanks.
I’m sorry but I don’t live in India and I’ve never seen that film.
Can anyone please help me!! I am looking for this beautiful Italian song I’ve heard so many times but I don’t know the name or the artist, there are just a few lyrics that make you “…e dois ya berezaa….” or something like that, I dont speak Italian so forgive me if I messed it up…but I need to find this song!!! Thank you!!!
oh, and I also forgot to mention its an old, old song…my parents were listening to it in the lates 80s….thank you!
Unfortunately, it is almost impossibile to identify a song from an incomplete sentence which is not even written in Italian (because “e dois ya berezaa” are not Italian words: it is how you wrote the sound of the words). “berezaa” might be “bellezza” (beauty or the like) but it’s such a common word that it is not enough to identify it.
Buongiorno everybody ciao
I really like the italian songs and for me the best songs are : Azzurro and the other one i think its called l’italiano it starts by: lasciatemi cantare con la chitarra in mano, i am sorry if i misspelled some words because i do not speak italian. but i will begin my italian course in next december and i have a grande amico from Torino who will help me with some italian lessons. oh my friend (mi manca cosi tanto). bye
Your Italian is good: no mistakes at all! :)
My nonno(grandpa from Sicily) after having a full meal and a 1/2 a bottle of wine would start singing an upbeat song about three promiscuous sisters. Does anyone know of such a song? Thanks
Mmm… I don’t know. Could it be a regional song?
snoo łokuera- początek refrenu, później występuje tam słowo Chicago i dalej ti amo…
ciężko… :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
I think the greatest of all is Emozioni by Lucio Battisti.
I cried when i listened to this song.
It’ s really a masterpiece.
Thank you!
Where’s Toto Cutugno – L’italiano?
What about Con te Partiro ~ Andrea Bocelli?
Franco Battiato – La Cura

Maybe you can help me find an Italian song about how the sky is always blue no matter what you do. It’s kind of a positive message song and is sung by a man with a raspy voice. I think it’s an older song (1960′s?).
There are many songs about the sky or its “azzurro” color, like Azzurro itself or others. But, at the moment, I don’t remember a song about the fact that “the sky is always blue no matter what you do”.

Thanks. Rino is great. The meaning is slightly different: he lists many activities and the refrain is, more or less, “but the sky is even bluer”.
if anyone knows the name of this song please reply. i will be happy coze this a real song
here is it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysGW5fyiB3U
The singer is Umberto Tozzi.
The song is “Il grido” (it means “the shout”).
